I've seen a few Clan vs Clan videos and most games seem to last 10 minutes average and that's a way too short for the bit of action we get. It looks like as the game progress, the sub-classes are not worth it anymore: always better to go for the higher cost regardless of the situation. Pouncing is not only better in movement, but actually better than blocking since it can help you dodge and counter as-well in a melee fight and probably range too. It seem like blocking is actually terrible and you can't even move slower while doing it. This is what i hate mostly about battle of newerth from what i can see in most vidoes Sav2 had this very bland, non-cohesive art style, reminiscent of all the bad WoW-clones developers pumped out those past years (speaking of which, reminds me that the stock loadout abilities would have cooldowns and stuff, which I generally dislike) It's much more clearly defined and the game makes it work. I also really didn't care for the overall aesthetic of it (and I'm not one to usually care about this), which is funny since you'd think I hate SavRez, but I like the combined nomadic/futuristic approach in SavRez. I hated the stock loadouts thing, one of my favorite parts about Sav1 is building a loadout and planning your next life via the items you buy. I like that you're only ever a few claw swipes away from death in Sav1. I remember just swinging away at the enemy while they do the same, nothing felt impactful or deadly and I couldn't get into it due to that. Low tier units in S1 aren't useless either.Īpparently it changed quite a few times, but when I played Sav2 the combat in general was very spammy and didn't feel like it had any weight to it. But they had already moved onto HoN and just needed Savage 2 to be out. It went through many iterations compeltely changing and finally the one with release was just bad. And they didn't implement what they have now after the paper rock sizzors one. Remaking any of those games won't be a success. They had hard time with S2 (suffered data loss) (and I even have a feeling that whoever is making decisions he just hates this game). I take it you are curious why S2Games are on for S1. A word on unit tiers: low tiers in S1 are useless unless used for mining/repairing, something you can't say about S2 unit tiers. Savage 2 is melee-oriented and also adresses some of S1 flaws. Combined with other game elements it was like a daily dose to many. But nevertheless S2Games managed to implement an extremely addictive melee system after the rock-paper-scissors one. Just want to point out that Savage 2 failed on execution. However, after playing the game this morning, I was a bit disappointed knowing that the game is actually the reincarnation of Savage XR and nowhere has the element of RPG class-based abilities as in Savage 2.ĭoes Savage Resurrection was originally intended to become the remade of Savage XR with better graphics or was it just temporarily placeholder before it becomes a whole new Savage gameplay (Savage 3?) instead of Savage XR or Savage 2.Originally posted by Quiting already, pancy? /(^0^)\:It's been years of "debates" thanks to fanatics like Robbo ) Saying something like "terrible melee in Savage 2" will not make Savage 2 players read your points. Yes, I instantly purchase the game despite not knowing how's the game going to turn out (that's whole point of early access isn't?) As I browse through Steam store yesterday, I was shocked knowing that Savage now has finally getting it's sequel. Hello, I'm a former Savage 2 player who used to become addicted to the game despite never played Savage 1 / Savage XR before.
